TERMS & CONDITIONS
DEFINITIONS: "Seller" refers to Stang Design LLC. "Buyer" refers to the party purchasing product(s) from the Seller.
These terms and conditions govern the purchase and sale of all Stang Design products. By placing an order, the Buyer agrees to these terms. These terms apply to everyone who uses our website, whether browsing, purchasing, or contributing content. You must be at least 18 years old or have parental consent to use our site.
We may update these terms from time to time by posting changes on this page. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically. Your continued use of our website means you accept any changes. Any new features or tools added to our store will also be subject to these terms.
I. PRODUCT CATEGORIES AND RETURN POLICIES
A. DECOR, ACCESSORIES and LIGHTING - Decor, accessory, and lighting items may be returned within 14 days of delivery subject to a 20% restocking fee plus shipping costs. Items must be in original unopened condition. To return by mail, please email us at inquiries@stangdesign.com for a return authorization. We recommend insuring and retaining tracking information on your return shipment since we cannot give credit for items that do not arrive at our warehouse.
Customer is responsible for return shipping costs. A return shipping label may be provided by Stang Design, and the cost of the label will be deducted from the refund total.

Shipping and handling charges are non refundable, unless the item received is damaged, defective or incorrect and a replacement of the merchandise is not possible

B. CUSTOM WALL COVERINGS - All wall covering sales are final. No returns or exchanges are accepted.

II. PAYMENT TERMS
A. DECOR, ACCESSORIES and LIGHTING - Full payment, including taxes and shipping, is required at the time of order placement for all lighting fixtures, decor items, and accessories. For Decor, Accessories and Lighting, we accept credit/debit cards and bank transfers on our online platform.
B. WALL COVERINGS and CUSTOM LIGHT FIXTURES - a 50% deposit is required at the time of order placement. The remaining balance, including taxes and shipping, is due prior to shipping. Orders will not be shipped until full payment is received. For Wall Coverings and Custom Light Fixtures, we accept bank transfers or checks.
C. We reserve the right to refuse, limit, or cancel any order at our discretion. This includes orders that appear to be from dealers or resellers, or orders with unusual purchasing patterns.
D. You must provide current, complete, and accurate billing and account information. You agree to update this information promptly to ensure we can process your transactions and contact you as needed.
E. Product prices are subject to change without notice. We may modify or discontinue our service or any part of it at any time without notice. We are not liable for any changes to pricing, modifications, or discontinuation of services.
III. SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
STANDARD SHIPPING
Most items ship within 5–10 business days unless otherwise noted at the time of purchase. Shipping rates are calculated based on the size, weight, and destination of your order.
Every piece is carefully prepared for shipment by our trained staff using materials and methods selected specifically for each item's size, weight, and fragility. This may include reinforced packaging, protective cushioning, or specialized packing systems to ensure safe delivery. Our fulfillment process prioritizes care and protection throughout preparation and carrier handoff.
WHITE GLOVE & FREIGHT DELIVERY
White Glove and Freight items, as well as some heavy or oversized pieces, cannot be shipped outside the contiguous 48 states.
With White Glove Delivery, your item arrives with exceptional care. The delivery service will call you in advance to schedule a convenient delivery time, then bring the item into your home, unpack and inspect it, perform simple assembly if needed, and remove all packaging materials. Service to outlying areas may be restricted based on geographic location.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
At present, we cannot ship orders to addresses outside the United States.
IV. SHIPPING ERRORS & DAMAGES
Please email us at inquiries@stangdesign.com if your order arrives damaged or if a packing error has occurred. It is your responsibility to inspect your item upon delivery. Any damage that occurs during shipping must be noted on the delivery receipt and reported immediately. Damage not noted on the delivery receipt will be considered post-delivery and will not be covered under warranty.
If damage or defects are not reported within 14 days of delivery, they will be considered acceptable and will not be eligible for return or exchange. We will work with you to resolve any issues to your satisfaction. If you choose to return a damaged item, the purchase price, taxes, and delivery fees will be refunded.
V. SALES TAX
Sales tax is collected on taxable items in accordance with applicable California law. Tax is calculated based on the delivery address and the applicable state, county, and local tax rates in effect at checkout, which may vary by jurisdiction. Any applicable sales tax will be calculated and displayed prior to order completion.
Tax-exempt purchases require valid resale or exemption documentation to be submitted and approved in advance of order placement. Orders placed without approved documentation will be charged applicable sales tax. Sales tax cannot be refunded after shipment if exemption documentation was not provided and approved prior to purchase.
VI. ARTISANAL CRAFTSMANSHIP
Stang Design products are handcrafted by skilled artisans using premium materials. Our signature finishes often result in natural variations, making each piece unique. These subtle differences are hallmarks of our exclusive designs, not flaws. The beauty is in the natural variations, the irregular distresses, sporadic oxidations, and color fluctuations. These are normal characteristics that will not affect the performance of your piece and are not considered a manufacturer defect.
Hand-Painted Wall Covering Characteristics - Slight variations in panel alignment and color matching may occur due to the hand-painted nature of our wallcoverings. These characteristics are inherent to artisanal production methods and reflect the authentic craftsmanship tradition seen in historical examples from the 18th and 19th centuries, many of which are preserved in leading museums worldwide. Such variations are considered a normal and valued aspect of hand-painted decorative arts rather than defects.
VII. LEAD TIMES
Our standard lead times for Custom Hand Painted Wall Coverings are 8-12 weeks from the time the final design is approved. Adding embellishments or creating a completely custom design generally take a little longer. Occasionally, there are delays due to our artisan partners.
We will communicate any significant changes to estimated delivery dates as soon as possible.
Expedited production requests can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and will incur an additional fee proportionate to the piece. Please contact our concierge team at inquiries@stangdesign.com to discuss expedited options for your specific order.
VIII. INSTALLATION
Installation of custom orders, including but not limited to Wall Coverings and Custom Lighting, is the customer’s responsibility. We recommend using qualified professionals and following all provided guidelines.
IX. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All designs, images, and content on our website and in our marketing materials are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced without permission.
X. TRADE PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY & PARTICIPATION
The Stang Design Trade Program is extended to qualified design professionals and firms for approved business and client project use. Participation is subject to application review, approval, and ongoing adherence to program terms and guidelines.
Trade pricing and benefits are non-transferable and may not be shared, sublicensed, or used on behalf of unauthorized third parties.
We reserve the right to approve, deny, suspend, or revoke Trade Program participation for business-related reasons, including but not limited to misrepresentation of credentials or project use, unauthorized resale or misuse of trade pricing, violation of pricing, branding, or intellectual property guidelines, repeated order or payment issues, excessive disputes or chargebacks, or conduct that is inconsistent with professional industry standards or that adversely impacts our brand, operations, partners, or clients.
Participation in the Trade Program does not guarantee product availability, fulfillment priority, or continued access. Determinations regarding Trade Program eligibility and continued participation are final.
XI. PRIVACY
Your privacy is important to us. The collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which outlines how your information is handled and protected. Please refer to our website for the most current version.
XII. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Any disputes arising from these terms or the purchase of our products will be resolved through binding arbitration in San Mateo County, California.
XIII. PRODUCT REPRESENTATIONS
We strive for accuracy in depicting our products on our website and in our marketing materials. However, to the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not warrant that product descriptions, colors, finishes, or other content available on the website are entirely accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free.
Due to the artisanal nature of our products and variations in computer displays, actual colors, textures, and finishes may differ from those shown on your screen. Each piece is handcrafted, often using natural materials that can vary in appearance. These variations are inherent to our production process and contribute to the unique character of each item.
For lighting and decor items, slight variations in color, grain, or finish between the product received and the displayed image should be expected and are not considered defects.

XIV. PRODUCT INFORMATION AND AVAILABILITY
All product information is subject to change without notice.
We may limit quantities or restrict sales to certain geographic areas. Products may have limited availability and are subject to our return policy. We reserve the right to discontinue any product at any time.
XV. CALIFORNIA PROP 65
Certain products may expose you to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive harm. For more information, visit www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
XVI. Third-Party Services and Links
Our website may include links to third-party websites or tools that we do not control or monitor. We provide these "as is" without any warranties and are not responsible for any third-party content, products, or services. Use of third-party tools is entirely at your own risk.
XVII. Disclaimers and Limitations
We provide our website and services "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that our service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your expectations.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of our website or products, including lost profits, data, or other consequential damages. In jurisdictions that don't allow such limitations, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
XVIII. Your Responsibilities
You agree to defend and hold us harmless from any claims arising from your breach of these terms or violation of any laws or third-party rights.
XIX. Legal Matters
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect. These terms constitute the complete agreement between us regarding your use of our website.
XX. FORCE MAJEURE
Stang Design shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these terms if such delay or failure is due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

Natural disasters, severe weather, fires, floods, earthquakes, or other acts of God

Pandemics, epidemics, or public health emergencies

War, terrorism, civil unrest, or government restrictions

Labor disputes, strikes, or lockouts not involving our employees

Supplier delays, material shortages, or disruptions in the artisan supply chain

Transportation delays, customs issues, or carrier failures

Utility failures, internet outages, or communication system breakdowns
In the event of a force majeure delay, we will notify affected customers as soon as reasonably possible and work to fulfill orders as conditions permit. Estimated delivery dates may be extended by the duration of the delay. If a delay exceeds 90 days, either party may cancel the order, and any deposits or payments made will be refunded in full.
XXI. CUSTOM ORDER CANCELLATIONS
Wall Coverings and Custom Light Fixtures
Once a custom order enters production, it cannot be cancelled, as these pieces are made specifically to your specifications and cannot be resold.
Before Production Begins:

If you cancel a custom wall covering or custom light fixture order before production has commenced, your 50% deposit will be refunded minus a 25% design and administrative fee to cover the time invested in consultations, design development, material sourcing, and order coordination.

Production is considered to have begun once materials have been ordered, artisan work has commenced, or the final design has been approved and scheduled for production, whichever occurs first.
After Production Begins:

Once production has begun, custom orders cannot be cancelled and the full balance remains due.

If a customer refuses delivery or fails to complete payment after production is complete, Stang Design retains the right to the full purchase price and all deposits paid.
