Pamela's notes
A few years ago, while wandering Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, I was captivated by an extraordinary organic light sculpture at the medieval Palau Dalmases, an illuminated tangle of forms that seemed to dance between plant and sea creature. After encountering more of artist Natalia Gaminde's distinctive work throughout the city, I reached out to commission a custom piece for our Costa Brava home. What began as a professional collaboration has evolved into a cherished friendship.
These table lamps bring Natalia's artistry into more intimate spaces, each one handcrafted from preserved botanical materials with no two exactly alike. I love how they transform a bedside table or console with their distinctive glow and organic presence, bringing warmth and quiet poetry to everyday moments. Like all of Natalia's work, they transcend function to become sculptural art that breathes naturally into your space.
Natalia Gaminde is an artist and designer trained in Art and Design in England, daughter of artists and great-great-granddaughter of composer Isaac Albéniz. Her work explores light as a poetic and transformative material, creating sculptures that transcend function to become immersive experiences. Each piece brings soul to spaces, transforming them into landscapes of light that connect us to what is essential.
Amedialuz, founded by Natalia Gaminde and Héctor Herrera, creates light sculptures ranging from intimate luminaires to large-scale architectural pieces for hotels, restaurants, cultural spaces, and private projects worldwide. They craft bespoke solutions combining iron and natural fibers in forms that play with movement, shadow, and texture. Bespoke pieces can be made to order and adapted to the inspiration, identity, scale, and context of each unique space.
